Inspired by the craftsman of Antigua Furniture, you will find me up to my arms in stains and waxes this weekend. It was a silly little advertisement in a magazine that caught my breath and inspired me. I now have an array of colors, rubs and rags before me with little knowledge on how to achieve the look I am searching for ....In short, I am in over my head. Again.
Antigua furniture is based in Las Vegas, and handmade by true artisans. The warm wood tones and rich carvings lend itself to the look of history and substance. The work is amazing, and frankly, out of my budget. Yet, I love it and it offers inspiration.
Cutest Hubby and I, have acquired a rather lovely selection of rustic furniture from various shoppes and auctions around Cali. A few antique pieces and a barn table highlight our finds. We have chosen slowly and with thought and have built a foundation of pieces that we can work with. The problem? They need uniformity and that requires refinishing. Refinishing? Yes, and that requires skill, patience and ME!
