Chrissi B! running on empty? No worries ....driving a hybrid ....

Whew! Grab a few days off and suddenly it is the middle of the month! Imagine, it is already September 15th and I haven't chatted with you this month! Bad Chrissi, bad Chrissi .....Cutest Hubby and I had a wonderful few days of play.

We took the guys to the San Diego zoo and to Sea World. Sometimes in my life I live so near a fun destination, that I forget how great it is .....trekking through the zoo, brought back years of memories. We made quite a few new ones too. Koalas, wolves, panthers, and the playful polar bears ......The zoo is a wonderful place to spend the day. Miles of walking up and down hills and all the while you are so busy seeing and searching, you enjoy the journey.

It was my first time to see the pandas and they did not disappoint. Love them!

Cutest Hubby and I, rented a wonderful little Toyota Prius, for the week. We are in the market for a new car and I would really like a hybrid. Our Enterprise rental location has only one kind of hybrid, a Toyota Prius. So our choice was easy .... Toyota Prius it was. We loved it!

Now, let me explain, I am not saying that the Prius is the car for everyone. It is not. It may not even be the car choice for our family, but we were really impressed with they hybrid part of our little experiment.

We had heard tales of loss of energy around windy roads and uphill. Not true. We had heard that you may be sacrificing comfort and other luxuries in a hybrid car. Not true. We found the Prius to be much larger than it appeared. It sat four adults quite comfortably. The trunk was large and like most compact cars, the seat flips down to accommodate larger purchases....

Shopping! Yes!

This car was super quiet. Dah! Really comfortable and simply put, a fun little car to drive. A great second car for a family and a wonderful commuter car. I was really impressed.

We were told to expect to get up to 50 miles per gallon. That did not happen. Our average was about 35 miles per gallon. That is averaged between a week of in town and highway driving.

If you are in the market for a new ride, consider a hybrid. There still are some great tax incentives out there for Ford and Chevrolet hybrids. Toyota and Honda incentives have expired.
Also, try renting one for a few days. See if it would fit your needs and meet your expectations.

Above all .....Enjoy the journey!
