What took me so long? After forty years of release, I have finally seen The Graduate!. Cutest hubby and I "netflixed" it a couple of weeks ago, and we finally made time to see this classic, American film. It was great. A young Dustin Hoffman, offset by the alluring Anne Bancroft, and the beautiful Katherine Ross ...What a fun watch!
Let's be honest, I was walking the earth in 1967, when the film was released. Barely. I knew the premise of the film, but The Graduate movie that I knew was one of those chopped up film offerings of late night TV. I have seen clips and I have caught pieces but I had never seen the film.
As most of you know, by today's standards The Graduate is tame. Boy meets woman, woman seduces boy and boy runs off with woman's daughter.
I suppose it is the youth of Dustin Hoffman, spiced with the presence of Miss Anne Bancroft that made this fun Saturday night diversion.
The Graduate was re-released just this year. Grab it, rent it, netflix it ....Grab a friend or your dh, pop some popcorn and race back to the nineteen sixties ....You will not be sorry. ...enjoy!
