Since we have been chatting with you for a while now, I need to come clean with you, my friends. I ebay! I am not ashamed. I am not embarrassed, but regularly at two or three in the morning, you may just find me, computer open and checking my bids, looking for treasures, or just browsing.
I have "ebayed" for a few years now. Hubby and I have purchased a few antiques, a few "one-of-a kinders",and even a few Pottery Barn finds. Imagine my excitement when a holiday rug I longed for at PB was 60% less on ebay. Still in the original packaging, with the tags!
I have found that Pottery Barn, like many retail wonders have outlet stores scattered around the country. (The Georgia area must be full of these great outlets). I do not live near such a store, but many ebayers do and they inturn buy at discount and resale online. What a find! It is like having a friend shop for you.
Often, my friends think I am nuts. They simply do not understand that most everything is sometime going to appear on ebay, and when it does I am there.
I do not buy counterfeit. I refuse to buy fakes. I do not haunt the designer looks or lines. I know where to buy the real thing! I don't buy used clothing, shoes or dinnerware. When I am lucky I may find, monogrammed linen dinner napkins. New! Hot pink ski boots! New! Out of print books and more. A find on ebay is like going through your favorite antique shop, only easier. You can look, you can offer a price and without anyone getting hurt feelings ...The seller accepts or you are outbid by another.
The bidding is almost as fun as the purchase. The anticipation. The win ....And, on a rare occasion, the "oh no, I won that thing!" feeling. Buyer's remorse.
If you have not yet "ebayed" consider a visit today. Check it out. Choose wisely and only buy from dealers with a lot of "happy stars" or positive feed back points. Pay with Paypal or postal money orders and have fun. ...enjoy!
