Owner, Natalie Villacis was just five years old, when the pup, Rocco dug his way under the fence and started his long adventure. Now, happily reunited, both are older and wiser and hopefully, together forever.
Perhaps it is my love of beagles, or just the face of sweet, Natalie, that had me riveted to the Today Show, the other morning, as they aired the story. Rocco, was enjoying the attention and soaking up the fame. Back with Natalie and family all because of that great little chip, available to each of us from our veterinarians.
The chip intrigues me. If this "thing" works so well, why do we not put the same chip in kids and scan them each year as they enter school. No more stolen kids, they would be found out when enrolling in classes each fall. Why do we not offer the chip to store our medical information, so that if we are injured in an accident, the rescue workers could both identify us, and help us with our specific problems. Again, I digress ....
The chip, or Microchip implant is available by many companies through out the country. I checked out the Home Again site, for an explanation of services and options. With over 6 million owners and pets using this one service, I think it is here to stay. I find this service impressive and necessary. If you feel differently, still check out there site and blog, as Home Again, offers tips to aid you in finding your lost pet.
Cutest hubby and I, will adopt a new pup or two in the near future and we will micro chip them. We like the comfort in knowing that it gives us a small edge in finding our lost pet. Hold on to your pets and do ....enjoy them!
